LONG LIFE SLEEVE END SEAL (LLSleeve®) FOR SEALING THE END OF CASED

CROSSING PIPELINES  
   

S.T.A.M.P. has designed and produced a new end seal for cased crossings pipelines.

These end seals are realized in two versions:

  • with longitudinal zipper, for sealing or restoring the seal of existing cased crossing pipelines

  • without zipper, for new pipelines installation

Advanced features

The design of this end seal, called “LL Sleeve” (Long Life Sleeve) allows:
  • to maintain the sealing and the protection of the pipeline also in case of axial- transversal movements, between the casing and the pipeline. These movements can be due to soil crash or landslide. This LLSleeve end seal feature is due to special raw materials and geometric profiles.

  • to make a cold seal of the interspace between the casing and the pipeline, preventing the end seal from a premature aging (cuts and cracks), that can be caused by an uncontrolled use of heating

  • to make the installation easier, because it doesn't need heating or special tools but only some sealing compound which can be applied through an injection pistol, on both the casing and the pipeline. Then LLSleeve end seal is firmly tightened, with S.T.A.M.P. CG adhesive tape, to the casing and the pipeline.

  • to resist to internal over-pressures. Tolerated pressure values depend on the medium diameter and the length of the end seal.

  • to grant electric insulation between casing and pipeline, because no metal elements are used.


Testing

All validation tests on “LLSleeve®” end seals have been made in Laboratory.  

Tested system was composed by :

  • a crossing made with a coated HDPE metal casing and neoprene end seals, without zipper, 1 mt. long. 

  • standard installation with sealing compound and insulating bands.


Test results

Environmental test results (exposition to atmospheric agents) have been the followings:

“after two years of aging and testing, we don't find
any tightening losses or wearing/aging signs
due to thermal, chemical or mechanical agents"

RUBBER END SEALS

This system is especially used whenever the sealing of the crossing end is done when the pipeline has been already installed in the adjacent area, and therefore it would be impossible to apply the closed rubber end seal – wave shape.

Stamp sealing kit is made by an open heat shrinkable sleeve, an adhesive closing patch and a PE cut support to grant a mechanical protection to the sleeve at the top of the crossing end.
 

  


HEAT SHRINKABLE KITS

This system is especially used whenever the sealing of the crossing end is done when the pipeline has been already installed in the adjacent area, and therefore it would be impossible to apply the closed rubber end seal – wave shape.

Stamp sealing kit is made by an open heat shrinkable sleeve, an adhesive closing patch and a PE cut support to grant a mechanical protection to the sleeve at the top of the crossing end.



 
LINK-SEAL ELEMENTS

S.T.A.M.P. link-seals elements are used to realise sealing rings with a double function: sealing of cased crossing ends but also hydraulic sealing of wall crossings (pipes coming out of tanks, special chambers, ecc.)

The standard execution is realised by an element made of EPDM rubber and bolts, nuts and plates made of galvanised steel.

On request the same rings can be supplied in a special execution with elements made of NBR and metallic parts made of stainless steel.
