ANSWERS
1. "Eurospacer" products range has been designed to be used with carrier pipes (made of steel, polyethylene, coated polyethylene, cast iron, with socket ect.) with nominal diameters between DN65 (2" e 1/2) and a maximum standard of DN1200 (48"). For higher diameters, please contact us.

We have developed a new model of "Eurospacer" insulating spacer which can be used for carrier pipes with nominal diameters from DN15 (1/2"). If you would like to be updated about the avaliability of new products, we invite you to subscribe our  Newsletter.

The hollow space between carrier pipe and casing should be higher than 20 mm, in the lower part, and it should be included between 60 and 140 mm in the higher part.

For gas and water pipelines, with a nominal diameters between DN65 (2" and 1/2) and DN 1200 (48"), the suggested spacing is equal to 2 meters (for water carrier pipes, with diameters higher than 48", the suggested spacing is equal to 1.5 meters). In crossings with sockets, even if you can use the spacing suggested above, it's necessary to place two insulating spacers - one before and one after - near each socket. In this case, the height of the spacing block of the insulating spacer should be higher at least 12-15 mm than the socket. For more detailed information, see "Eurospacer" composition table.

The "Eurospacer" spacing blocks heights now available are 15 - 25 - 41 - 60 - 75 - 90 - 110 - 135 - 150 - 165 and 175 mm. However, according to the market demand, STAMP intends to produce "Eurospacer" with new spacing blocks heights.

The adhrence of "Eurospacer" to the carrier pipe is assured by tha lack of rigidity in the spacers and by the innovative tightening method.

It's the result of a careful design which has allowed to have an optimal ratio between the bending radius and the tickness of the spacer: in this way, we have obtained the required flexibilty to assure the perfect tighten.

The lightness of the band, which form the "Eurospacer" insulating spacer, is the risult of a careful design, which the first aim has been the flexibility of the spacer which assures its perfect adherence to the carrier pipe.

Moreover, the careful choice of the material and the design of the number, dimension and distribution of the spacing blocks have allowed to assure, beside of the flexibility, the collision strength.

Easy and fast installation is one of "Eurospacer" main feature. You don't need any special tool for assembly (you can use a hammer): no taping or surface cleaning of the carrier pipe are required.

Yes, of course. "Eurospacer" insulating spacer have been designed to be reused in case of wrong installation.

First of all, allowed crossing length depends on the material and the conditions of the inside surface of the casing, and on the sliding speed of the carrier pipe. Usually, for steel casing, with a diameter equal to DN 1200 (48"), allowed crossing length is 120 meters.

On the other hand, we made also abrasion tests in crossings, with length equal to 500 meters, where the carrier pipe, on which "Eurospacer" insulating spacer were installed, was submitted to "push and pull" slidings: the results were that there was no a considerable wear of the spacing blocks (ask for Characterization tests).

In case of cement casing, to avoid the overheating of the spacing blocks and to reduce friction, during the sliding operation, we suggest to use a solution of bentonite and running water.


10.

Our experience siggests to install two "Eurospacer", at a closer distance (500 mm), either on the initial and the ending side of the carrier pipe.

It's possible to insert cables parallely, between the carrier pipe and the casing. For Magnum Eurospacer, you have to drill all spacing blocks in the high side of each spacer: then, in each hole, you have to insert a suitable narrow band for keeping the cable (see pictures).

For Midi and Mini Eurospacer you can use directly the existing slots (see pictures).

Also for short crossing, we suggest to use insulating spacers instead if wooden stakes, because the second ones don't assure an easy installation, the same wear resistance and collision strength (because you don't have the same distribution of the load) and a perfect electrical isolation of the carrier pipe that, on the contrary, insulating spacers ensure. Moreover, in case of rottenness, wooden stakes can cause corrosion phenomena.

13.

During tightening and sliding operations, the grip wedge is bound to the modules by bridges which prevent the unhooking of the grip wedge.

In this way the tightening between the grip wedge and the modules is always assured.


14.

The yield strength of "Eurospacer" insulating spacer is higher than 24 Mpa. However, on demand, STAMP can supply "Eurospacer" insulating spacers, made of particular synthetic resins, which can bear a yield strength equal and higher than 30 Mpa.

15.

In many countries the use of insulating spacers is provided by law. In Italy we have the Ministerial Decree dated 24/11/1984. which rules the matter.

From a technical point of view, the use of insulating spacers allow to prevent problems such as positioning, sustaining and electrically insulating of the carrier pipe.

  • to choose the most suitable solution for loading requirements, considering the fluid transported by the carrier pipe.
  • to optimize purchasing orders (in particular, for resellers/ wholesalers)
  • to reuse possible warehouse surplus, deriving from previous orders (in particular for final customers).
